Charlotte’s Web: a movie and book review by 9-year-old MissObservation

Hi everybody! Welcome! My name is Phoenix and today I’m going to be talking about the movie and book of Charlotte’s Web. We got to read this book in school and overall this book was pretty sad. This book had a little bit of funny parts. This book had no scary parts at all. But overall this book was pretty sad.

In the book, there was this little girl named Fern who adopted this pig that was the runt and the runt means like the smallest one, so yeah. And then he got taken away to the Zuckerman’s who raised him and he met this amazing spider named Charlotte and they were like best friends. And then on Christmas they were thinking of eating Wilbur so Charlotte was like, “Ok, I’m not ok with this.” So, then she helped Wilbur so that he wouldn’t get eaten. So, she like wrote these words in her web and that made Wilbur like a famous pig or something. And then they went to the fair, he got second prize with the ribbon thing and then he didn’t get eaten on Christmas.

So, my dad made me watch this cartoon version of the Charlotte’s Web and he said that he watched this when he was a little boy because it came out when he was a little boy and he said that it was really sad and I have to agree with him. The difference between the book and the cartoon movie is that in the cartoon movie there’s a little chick that’s also a runt, that also becomes best friends with Wilbur and Charlotte, but he’s not in the book. And in the book, there’s these sheep that are really mean and in the cartoon movie they aren’t as mean.

And then in school we actually got to see a different Charlotte’s Web movie with real animals in it, not like the cartoon animals in the other one. But the differences between the cartoon movie that my dad showed me and the one with the real animals in it at school, were that in the one that we saw at school had a horse that fainted because he was so scared of Charlotte. He was terrified of spiders. And then Charlotte came down and he was like, “Please don’t hurt me!” And he’s a horse and she’s a spider. And she said, “Well, since you said please, I won’t”.

Out of all three of those, the book, the one with the real animals, and the cartoon that my dad showed me, my favorite one is the one with the real animals because it has animals in it and because there’s this rat named Templeton and he’s really selfish. He was a lot funnier in this movie because he’s looking at himself in the mirror and he’s like, “Hello gorgeous.” I think that the saddest ones were the movies because in the book you have to read it and it’s not as real as seeing it in a movie.

Overall, I would recommend the book and the two movies to any kid because it teaches you a good lesson. Number one, to be nice to other people even if they’re a runt. And to be helpful to others, especially if they’re about to be eaten. So yeah, that’s pretty much the end of my review for the book and movies, “Charlotte’s Web”. Thank you for watching. I’ll see you next time. Good bye everybody.
