Captain Underpants: a movie review by 9-year-old MissObservation

Hi everybody! Welcome! My name is Phoenix and today I’m going to be talking about the movie called, “Captain Underpants” Traaaa Laaaaa Laaaaaaa!

Overall I thought this movie was great. It wasn’t scary or sad or anything like that. There were no bad words. It was really funny and I really really liked it. I guess this movie is based on a series of children’s books but I’ve never read any of those so I can’t tell you about those. But if the books are anything like the movie then I think I’ll like the books a lot.

This movie is about these two boys who are in 3rd or 4th grade and they’re like best buds for life. They create these comic books of this guy named Captain Underpants. One of the boys writes the words and the other boy draws the pictures. But they also like to get into big trouble by doing all sorts of pranks. And they get in trouble by guess what… their Principal. He’s so mean. He wants to put them in separate classes. He always puts them in detention. And if he has to, he’ll take their comic books, rip them into pieces, and probably throw them in the trash. And that’s just really mean.

So then these two boys figure out a way how to actually hypnotize their principal into the real life Captain Underpants. Which is kind of good in one way because then this mad scientist guy comes over and he’s like evil. And he is trying to erase laughter from everybody’s brains. And so that’s why we need Captain Underpants to save the day.

But, I should tell you this, my daddy almost fell asleep in the movie theater. You know when you’re about to close your eyes and you tilt your head and you wake up. Well, my daddy did that but he also shot his hands and legs out in the air like crazy. And it was really funny to watch him. I think he did that because he didn’t really like the movie as much but I loved it. I thought it was so funny and I think your kid would like it too because pretty much every single kid in the movie theater was laughing the whole entire time.

So yeah, that’s pretty much the end of my review for the movie called, “Captain Underpants”. Thank you for watching. I’ll see you next time. Goodbye everybody.
