The Arrival: a movie review by 8-year-old MissObservation

Hi everybody! Welcome! My name is Phoenix and today I’m going to be talking about the movie called, “The Arrival.” This was an alien movie about aliens and my daddy thought it was going to be very scary but he was actually wrong. It wasn’t really that scary.

Overall I thought this movie was OK. The big reason why I did not like this movie is because it had a lot about seeing through time. And I do not know why my daddy takes me to these movies that are all about seeing through time and time travel because I think he already knows, it’s very confusing for me to try and understand that stuff. So I did not understand a lot of this movie. But I will tell you the parts that I did understand, sort of. So these aliens came down to earth and they parked their space ships everywhere. Like in different countries all over the world. Kind of like Independence Day sort of. And these people wanted to find a scientist and a person who’s really good at language. And they did. And they put those people in weird oxygen suits and they sent them up into the big alien ship. And it was very hard for them to understand their language. And I kind of didn’t understand their language either. And the rest of the movie was kind of them figuring out their language. Oh! And I almost forgot… these people from different countries wanted to start a war with the aliens because they thought that they were mean and dangerous. But the good and nice language lady who came from the United States of America, she wanted to be friends with them. So that was kind of going on at the same time too.

Overall I thought this movie was OK. It was kind of slow. And I thought it could have been better with just like a little more action or funny parts. But I guess my dad liked it, or whatever.

Thank you for watching! I’ll see you next time. Goodbye everybody.
