Star Wars – The Last Jedi: a movie review by 9-year-old MissObservation

Hi everybody! Welcome! My name is Phoenix and today I’m going to be talking about the movie called, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. So, I could not watch this movie when it first came out because I was grounded because I did not listen to my parents. But I finally got to see it and I thought this movie was really good.

This is another great Star Wars movie with a lot of cool space action, and a lot of adventures, with a lot of fighting scenes, and with a little bit of comedy too. But this movie also had a couple sad parts in it too. So, I didn’t really like this movie as much as I liked The Force Awakens because this movie didn’t have as much BB-8 in it, and BB-8 is like my favorite character. But what this movie did have that I liked was more of R2-D2 and Luke Skywalker.

In this review I am going to be giving out some spoilers. So, if you have not seen this movie, first off, what have you been doing? Second off, you might not want to watch this review, yet.

So there’s a new character in this movie, or should I say characters, that I really liked. My dad calls them Furbies and they live on the Jedi Island. And they’re like this penguin bird thingy with big puppy dog eyes. And Chewbacca actually becomes friends with them, which I thought was pretty funny. In addition to the Furbies, there were a bunch of other cool critters too, like these crystal foxes, and these goat horses that are really fast and they’re so cute too, and then there were like these frog human thingys and they wore dresses and hats and they were pretty funny.

Another part that I really liked was when Kylo Ren, the bad guy, and Rey, the good guy, fought with each other. They like teamed up. And I liked how Kylo Ren killed his own teacher, Snoke, and I did not see that coming. So you know how Carrie Fisher died? Well, I wasn’t expecting her to be in this movie a whole bunch. But guess what? She was literally in the movie for the whole entire time. How crazy is that? And then I also liked when half of her ship got blown up and Carrie Fisher, well, Princess Leia was floating around in space and I thought she was going to die but apparently she used the force to get back onto the ship and the other guys saved her life. How cool is that?

So this movie wasn’t as sad as The Force Awakens because in The Force Awakens, Han Solo dies in a really sad way. But in this movie Luke Skywalker dies but it was in like a really cool way. So that makes me think that Princess Leia is going to die in the next movie. So hopefully she dies in a really cool way too.

Oh, and I almost forgot, I didn’t really understand when Finn I think falls in love with this new girl and they start to kiss, blah. Because I wanted Finn to fall in love with Rey. So I don’t know what’s going on there. But then at the very end of the movie, Poe comes up to Rey and says, “Hey girl. How ya doin? What’s up?” And so I don’t know what’s goin on there either. So I am just super confused, who is going to fall in love with who?

I give this movie two thumbs up. It wasn’t as good as The Force Awakens, but I mean hey, it’s a Star Wars movie so of course it’s good. That’s pretty much the end of my review for the movie called, The Last Jedi. Thank you for watching. I’ll see you next time. Goodbye everybody!
