Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children: a movie review by eight-year-old MissObservation

Hi everybody! Welcome! My name is Phoenix and today I’m going to be talking about the movie called, “Miss Pairagain And The School For Odd Children.” Or something like that.

I just want to start by saying this movie is very scary. And if you’re a kid like me, you might not want to see it because it has a lot of scary parts in it.

This movie is about a boy named Jake and he likes to hang out with his grandpa a lot. And his grandpa would tell him always scary stories that Jake’s dad and friends think are not real. But guess what… if you watch more of this movie you will see that those things are actually real.

So, I don’t want to give too much away but basically, what the movie is about, is there’s this good team with the odd children. And they have special powers. And then there’s this bad guy team with scary and ugly monsters. And pretty much every time they see a person they’ll eat their eyeballs and just take them out. I had to cover my eyes 100 times in this movie because they took someone’s eyeballs out.

I did like some of the super powers that the odd kids had. But some of them were very scary also. My favorite one was Emma. She was really kind and sweet. And she was as light as air, which is pretty much impossible. And she had to wear these cool boots out of silver and lead and they had locks to keep her from floating away. And then there was their teacher, Miss Peregrine. And her super power was that she could transform into a bird. What type of bird? Yep, you guessed it, a peregrine falcon. And she was really smart. She knew everything about everything.

Also, this movie was very complicated because this movie had a little bit of time traveling in it and time traveling is always confusing. I had to ask my dad at the end of the movie how they time traveled and all of that stuff for two hours. That’s a lot.

Overall I thought this movie was ok. I would not recommend this movie for people who are easily scared or grossed out. Thank you for watching. I’ll see you next time. Goodbye everybody.
