La La Land: a movie review by 8-year-old MissObservation

Hi everybody! Welcome! My name is Phoenix and today I’m going to be talking about the movie, well wait, actually the musical called, La La Land. So my Grandma took me to go see this movie because she loves musicals. She also likes old movies. And I guess this movie is kind of like an old musical. Overall I thought this movie was ok. My grandma really liked it but I thought it was just, meh. So the beginning of this movie starts out with these people who jump out of their cars in the middle of the highway. And they start singing this song. And while they’re doing that people are lifting up the backs of trucks and there was a band hiding behind the truck’s back and they kept on playing a song. And then there was this weird hula hoop clown girl. And then there was this skate board guy who kept on skate boarding on peoples cars, which was really crazy. And that was the most funniest and entertaining part, for me, of the whole entire movie. And that was all at the beginning. So technically the rest of the whole movie was just romancing and kissing and I had to cover my eyes for all of that, which wasn’t that great. Basically this movie was about a girl who worked at a coffee shop and she wasn’t really good at it so she got fired, which is really bad. She was trying to find something that she was good at so she tried acting in a commercial. And she wasn’t really good at that either. So then she figured out that she was really good at singing. Just like I am! Well, sort of. And she went to La La Land, short for Los Angeles, California, Hollywood. And she ran into this guy that she met before, in the beginning. And he was a pianoist, he played the piano. And that’s kind of funny because I’m still practicing my piano to get better, just like he is. And then they fall in love. And then they don’t fall in love. And then it’s kind of just that for the rest of the movie, which was kind of blah. So if you like musicals or you’re like my grandma I think you’re going to like this movie. But, if you’re a kid like me, I don’t think you’re going to like this movie. So yeah, that’s pretty much the end of my review for the movie called, La La Land. Thank you for watching, I’ll see you next time. Goodbye everybody.
